Pumpkins!!!!

I decided late last night that I wanted to go pumpkin picking. It's not surprising that very few people were available to go with me. But surprise! One of my old college roommates decided to come with me! I ended up getting 4 pumpkins and apple cider. We went to Butler's Orchard. Butler's Orchard is pretty nice. The people are friendly and the pumpkins were plentiful. The only thing I didn't like is that all the pumpkins were cut off the vines but the vines were left around for people to trip on as they walked around. There were numerous rotted pumpkins everywhere. As it was, it was $0.65/lb for a pumpkin and it cost me about $22 for 4 pumpkins. I got 2 medium and 2 small pumpkins.

It was kind of sad to say that this is one of the better looking pumpkins and it's looks so nice because It turned it around. The other side is all marred up. But it was a nice size I suppose. I'm guessing it was because it's the end of the season, but there weren't that many good pumpkins around.

The Farmer's Market was a lot better than the pumpkin patch. It was clean, with plenty of people and products. I thought it was really funny that they spelled Bok Choy as Pak Choy. A lot of things were pretty expensive, but then, that's to be expected at Farmer's Markets. There was also apparently a Fall Festival but today was apparently the last day. We were going to go but it was $11 a person. I thought that was kind of ridiculous. 

February - The shortest most loving month.

It's February 3rd already, a whole month of this new year has gone by. Does it seem fast to you?
Highlights of this month include:

• Groundhogs Day/Hai Tu's Birthday
• SuperBowl
• Valentine's Day/Chinese New Year
• 25 (that's 28-3) days until my Spring Break

Yesterday was my ex-boyfriend's birthday. Most people don't contemplate men they dated over 5 years ago...but Hai Tu is special. You see, Hai Tu and I were best friends and pseudo family for 3 1/2 years immediately after we broke up, which means, he will never be far from my thoughts since I somehow see him as family. A little bitter, but then that's just life. It makes me think that it's about darn time that I stop moping about him. He's unworthy of it, and I deserve better.

Superbowl!!!!!!!! This Sunday!!!!! Who will you root for? New Orleans Saints  vs. Indianapolis Colts, it promises to be a fun and exciting Superbowl, maybe? My dad and I have this tradition that we each pick one team, and then root against each other. I need to pick a team, anyone got some advice for me?

Valentine's Day and Chinese New Year are on the same day. It's great because that means since I have no Valentine, I don't have to waste my money on a commercial Holiday, AND I get get great food.

TWLOHA and the CHESED Girls' Sleepover

So, Friday the 13th was TWLOHA Day, or To Write Love On Her Arms Day. It is a day to support those who suffer from depression and suicidal thoughts, it lets others know that they are not alone. I proudly wrote TWLOHA and LOVE on my arms with the sleeves rolled up so others could see.

The Same day, I went to a sleep over that Crystal hosted. We had Hot Pot, but I forgot to take pictures...This is a picture of the brownies we made.

The next morning, we made breakfast.

Surf/Turf, Barf HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

Yo, been a few days. First of all, I want to say I found this really awesome Food Blog called the The Food Pornographer. Yes, Weird name, and yet, she takes awesome pictures of food. She even makes fast food look yummy.

So, this weekend was pretty jammed packed. Friday, I went out with Connie and Erika to eat Chili's. It wasn't fair because Erika, usually the sober one, got to alcohol, and I was only allowed to take sips, because I was driving. not fair.

Saturday, we woke up late, and so were almost late to Bible Study. We studied James 5:7-20, about patience and prayer. It was a good one, although it was all very ADD and hard to stay on track. But then, that's just our style. Next went to see Scarlett in Baltimore. We had fun. Antique shopping in Ellicott City, Grocery shopping, Wine shopping, T-Bone steak and eggs at Double T Diner and then hanging out in her room. Pretty darn awesome Halloween.

Sunday, Sammie decided to wake me up by barfing on my bed. I had just gotten out of bed to let her off the bed, and I guess she couldn't wait. So, had to do throw my sheets in the laundry and take a shower to get the barf off me. She then decided to barf on the bench couch. 2nd load of laundry. After that, she barfed on the other cushion of the bench coach without getting up, so the barf was all over her. Doggy Bath and 3rd laundry load. Barfed twice more, but this time on the floor. Did I mention this started at 7am in the morning?

After that, went to church, and then lunch with my parents, Erika, Cindy and Elizabeth, the 16 yr old I like to hang out with when I get a chance. Then Cindy, Elizabeth and I went to Target for wrapping paper. Elizabeth and I went to my house to wrap the Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes, and Sammie decided to barf on my feet and Lucky's tail. Large Doggy Bath. Elizabeth decided to stay for dinner. Dinner was Surf and Turf Feast. My dad cooked, too bad I forgot to take a picture. Crab legs, Lobster tails, Mussels, Shrimp, Steak, Ribs, Giant Potatoes and broccoli for the vegetable. mmmmm yum.

Roommates, Crisises and Procrastination

So, on monday, I went to class and found out the outline for my semester term paper was due, then found out the same day that I was doing it all wrong and had to start over. I had to choose a new topic, do new research, and start over on my outline. Two months of work down the drain and a nervous break down, later, I managed to email my professor a brand new outline, hopefully along the right lines, and it only took me 12 hours of continuous work.

Today I was supposed to work on my other papers, but I've been procrastinating. I didn't wake up until 1pm, and made my computer unusable by running diagnostics on it because it was so slow. Now, I'm watching my roommate get all dolled up to go on a date with a guy who's not her boyfriend. She's trying to make her boyfriend jealous because he isn't paying attention to her. I find it quite hilarious.

The most horrifying part to me, is that I actually care what she wears and when she asks me questions about the clothes she's trying on, I actually answer with a good answer. I used to never care about clothes and how they looked on other people. When people watching, I would notice things that I might want to copy for my own appearance, but not in the sense that I care how other people looked unless they were utterly repulsive. But, now when my roommate freaks out about shoes, I am able to tell her what kind of shoes to wear, I can tell the difference between flats, heels and other types of shoes and I know somewhat what shoe goes with what type of outfit. It's so sad....

Happy Birthday and struggle to stay alive

So the happy birthday part is it's my mom's birthday! So Happy Birthday Mom!

For the rest, I've been feeling depressed and tired and all around shitty lately. What's been going on and why do I feel this way? well here's why!

• really stressed out because of school and grades
• can't sleep
• general worry and anxiety for friends
• boys
• living up to everyone's expectations
• worried about being a bother to other people
• generally angry, and worried about that

yeah so, that's what's on my mind. It makes me mopey and whiny and the few people I feel I can talk to are at odds with me for some reason or another. *sigh* Life is hard, and not having people who understand you is tough.

Fall Break

Hmm...Been awhile since I posted. But, My Fall break was pretty cool. I spent Friday and most of Saturday with my family. Saturday night, I carpooled with Scotty up to Gettysburg to see Zoe. We went to a pub. Don't know it's name but it was cool. Zoe, Scotto, Scarletta and I only had 1 drink apiece, since Zoe was tired. Scotto had yuengling and the rest of us Mangen's? or something like that. It was hard cider. We went to 7-11 and then walked back to Zoe's, whereupon Scarlett promptly made a screwdriver and then didn't like it. So I drank it.

Zoe's friends came back from their various activities, and we all went to the boy's suite to eat deep fried food and congregate whereupon zoe introduced us to people who I cannot remember most of their names. Victory is mine though, because I now remember more names than I started off with. I started off with James, Ryan and Amanda, to which I can now add, Annie, Andy, and Matt. Yep...only names I can remember, and...I doubt I can actually match Matt's name to his face. Is there actually a Matt? I'm beginning to doubt it.

On Sunday, we all went to PA Renaissance Faire, and had a ball. Everyone dressed up but me, which, is pretty normal. I forgot my camera, so I don't have any pictures, but managed to take some on other people's cameras so if you want to see them, just comment and I'll post some. I bought some nunchakus and a knife. A nice haul over all. Lots of food, but no one took pictures of me eating so I cannot show you.

Monday and Today were pretty uneventful except for lunch on Monday with my dad, Erika and Mo. Erika made sushi and we brought it over to Mo and my dad to feast on. Yummy. Also got my car fixed. Spent most of today doing nothing as well, except spending my evening with a little girl named Maggie. She's an awesome kid, but very exhausting. We made peanut butter play dough, it was fun, for her at least. Then we went to Old Country Buffet, and gourged. On a high note, I got on the Wii and found out I lost 7.5lbs. Don't know how I achieved that, but good job me!!!

I finally put pictures up in my dorm room. Mostly of my family and dogs, since they are Erika's pics.

So today, I was totally blindsided by my Deviant Behavior exam. Did I know one was going to happen? yes. Did I know it was going to be today? No. See, I forgot that today was exam day because I overslept last week and missed the review session. Didn't even know it was a review session. My professor has already told us that he won't help us with notes and stuff. We have to be pro active and get that stuff from our classmates. Shucks.

One good thing, I got my camera today. I bought a camera off of Ebay for $75 and it's awesome. It's not the best camera, but it does the job. Any bad pictures can be salvaged by Photoshop. Yes, I use Photoshop. not much, but just to correct the colors and sometime i take a picture that is off center and use Photoshop to correct it. Cropping is a good tool too. Now, there are fun time when making outrageous pictures is awesome too. Learning Photoshop is fun.
